1. Who we are

The website is run by Marina Ukalovic, a sole trader (ABN 60 945 088 336), trading as Caduno, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia ("Caduno", "we", "us"). Contact: hello@cadunoapp.com.

This policy explains how our website uses cookies and similar technologies. It forms part of our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep. Browser storage (called "local storage" and "session storage") does a similar job: it lets a website keep small pieces of information in your browser. "Session storage" is cleared when you close the tab. "Local storage" stays until it is cleared, or until it expires.

Similar technologies include tracking pixels, which are tiny images or scripts that send information to another company when you visit a page. We don't use them.

3. What our website uses

3.1 Cookies

None. Our website does not set any cookies.

3.2 Essential browser storage

These are needed for the website to do what you ask, so they don't need your consent. They stay in your browser. We don't send them to anyone, except that the answers you give on the waitlist form are sent to us when you choose to join.

Name Type What it does How long it lasts
caduno-join-draft Session storage Remembers your answers on the waitlist form while you fill it in, so you don't lose them if you go back a step or reload the page. Removed as soon as you join Until you join or close the tab
caduno-join-ref Session storage Remembers the invite code from an invite link you followed, so the person who invited you can be credited if you join Until you close the tab
caduno-card, caduno-card-logo Session storage Remember your choices in the founding card maker, including a logo you upload. Never sent to us. Only used when the card maker is available Until you close the tab
caduno-consent Local storage Remembers your cookie choice (accepted or declined), when you made it, and a random ID for your browser, so we don't ask on every page 12 months, then we ask again. We also ask again if this policy changes what we ask for

None in use. See section 4.

3.4 Records we keep of your choice

When you click Accept or Decline (or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal), we send a short record to our database in Australia (Sydney), so we can show what each visitor chose and respect it:

What we record Why
A random ID made in your browser (it doesn't contain or reveal who you are) To tell one choice from another, and to know when the same browser changes its mind
Your choice (accepted or declined), and whether you made it in the banner, in Cookie settings or by Global Privacy Control To keep proof of your choice and respect it
The version of this policy, the page you were on, and the date and time To show what you were told when you chose

We don't record your name, email or IP address with it. To stop misuse, our database host briefly receives your IP address when the record is sent. We keep only a one-way scrambled ("hashed") version for 30 days to limit repeated requests, then delete it.

If you join the waitlist from the same browser, the waitlist form sends the same random ID with your sign-up, so your cookie choice is linked to your waitlist record. This lets us show we respected your choice. We handle it under our Privacy Policy, and it is deleted with your waitlist record.

We keep cookie choice records for 2 years, or until your waitlist record is deleted if they are linked to it.

4. Optional analytics

We don't use website analytics at the moment. We may add them later to understand which pages are useful, for example how many people visit a page and where they come from.

If we do:

Declining never stops you using the website or joining the waitlist.

5. Changing your choice

You can change your choice at any time, as easily as you made it:

Turn on JavaScript to see or change your choice.

Change my cookie choice

Each change is recorded as described in section 3.4. You can also block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. If you block browser storage, the waitlist form still works, but it won't remember your answers if you reload the page, and we may ask for your cookie choice again on each page.

6. Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a choice to decline optional cookies and analytics, and we don't show you the banner.

7. Information our hosting providers collect

Like every website, the services that deliver our pages (our website host) and handle the waitlist form (our database host) receive technical information when your browser connects to them, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. This doesn't involve cookies. They use it to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems.

When you join the waitlist, we keep only a one-way scrambled ("hashed") version of your IP address to stop spam, and delete it after 30 days. See sections 5.4, 12.2 and 15 of our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy before we start using any new cookie, browser storage or similar technology, and post it on this page with a new effective date and version number. If a change means we need your consent, we will ask for it again through the banner. Earlier versions are available on request.
